GADDAFI NUSUR: A THREAT TO KATIKAMU NORTH’S FUTURE AND THE INTEGRITY OF THE NRM PARTY
THE DARK SIDE OF GADDAFI NUSUR: A THREAT TO KATIKAMU NORTH AND THE NRM PARTY
As Uganda approaches the 2026 elections, the political landscape in Katikamu North has become more complex, with one figure at the center of controversy—Gaddafi Nusur. As the NRM flag bearer for the constituency, Nusur has proven to be a threat to the community he is meant to serve, undermining the very values that the NRM party stands for. His actions—ranging from land grabbing, oppression, betrayal, and abuse of power—have ignited tensions, even causing a rise in support for opposition parties like the National Unity Platform (NUP).
LAND GRABBING AND FORCEFUL EVICTIONS WITH GUNS
One of the most egregious actions attributed to Gaddafi Nusur is his involvement in forceful land grabbing. Through his network of coordinators, who collaborate with corrupt police officers, Nusur has been accused of using threats and intimidation to evict innocent families from their land in Luweero. These families, who have lived on their land for generations, have found themselves homeless as Nusur’s enforcers, including his associate Kasuule George Williams (recently released from prison), use guns and force to ensure their compliance. Instead of championing the rights of the people, Nusur is actively involved in stripping them of their livelihoods.
If a flag bearer misuses power in this way, one can only imagine the dangers of electing him as a Member of Parliament. Katikamu North cannot afford to live under a leader who exploits their land and treats them as commodities for personal gain.
ABUSE OF POLITICAL POSITION TO THREATEN CITIZENS
Gaddafi Nusur’s political position should be used to uplift and support the people of Katikamu North. Instead, he has weaponized his power, turning it into a tool for oppression. Nusur has been accused of using his influence to intimidate and imprison those who oppose him, stifling dissent through fear. Innocent citizens have found themselves wrongfully imprisoned after resisting his demands or criticizing his actions. By using his political connections, Nusur continues to act as if he is untouchable, escaping accountability while his victims suffer in silence.
BETRAYAL OF NRM AND STRENGTHENING OPPOSITION FOR PERSONAL GAIN
Instead of working to unite and strengthen the NRM party in Katikamu North, Gaddafi Nusur has actively contributed to dividing the party and creating an environment ripe for opposition. His actions have pushed long-time NRM supporters away, leaving a vacuum that opposition parties, particularly NUP, have capitalized on. Nusur’s selfishness and disregard for party unity have made it difficult for NRM to maintain its hold in the region.
The people of Katikamu North are losing faith in the NRM, not because of the party itself, but because of individuals like Nusur, who prioritize their personal interests over the well-being of the community.
THE MEAT SCANDAL: A SHOCKING DISPLAY OF DISRESPECT
In a shocking turn of events, Gaddafi Nusur’s true character was exposed when he distributed meat to the Muslim community in Katikamu North. The cow had already died before slaughtering, making this an unforgivable insult to the people of Islam. Instead of admitting the mistake and taking responsibility, Nusur continued to act as though he could do no wrong. This blatant disregard for the dignity and beliefs of his constituents is proof of his inability to lead with integrity and respect.
EMPTY PROMISES AND ZERO DEVELOPMENT
Over the years, Gaddafi Nusur has made numerous promises to the people of Katikamu North—promises of better roads, improved schools, better healthcare, and clean water. Yet, very little has been done to fulfill these promises. His rhetoric is nothing more than political maneuvering designed to deceive voters into supporting him. While other leaders have been actively working to improve the area, Nusur has been enriching himself at the expense of the very people who support him.
If he cannot deliver basic development as an NRM flag bearer, the question arises: how can he be trusted to deliver as a Member of Parliament?
A HISTORY OF OPPRESSION AND TRIBAL EXPLOITATION
Gaddafi Nusur’s actions reflect a disturbing history of oppression. His tribe has long been associated with mistreatment, particularly toward individuals involved in activities like charcoal burning. Many of these hardworking individuals were beaten and persecuted in the past, and under Nusur’s leadership, this history is repeating itself. Nusur has embraced the same oppressive tactics—favoring a select few while leaving the majority of his people to suffer. He rules with fear, not service.
HON. NDAWULA RONALD: A LEADER WHO DELIVERS
In stark contrast to Nusur, Hon. Ndawula Ronald stands as a true leader who prioritizes the development and well-being of the people. Ndawula has built schools, lobbied for improved roads, and contributed to the construction of churches in Katikamu North. He does not discriminate based on tribe, religion, or political affiliation—he works with everyone. Hon. Ndawula’s leadership is rooted in service, not personal gain.
While Nusur seeks to divide and oppress, Hon. Ndawula seeks to unite and build. If Katikamu North is to move forward, it must rally behind leaders like Hon. Ndawula, who represent hope, progress, and genuine leadership.
THE PEOPLE MUST ACT BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE
The 2026 elections will determine the future of Katikamu North. The people must decide whether they want to continue under the rule of a leader who uses intimidation, division, and exploitation to maintain power, or whether they will choose a leader who values service, unity, and development.
Gaddafi Nusur has already shown his true nature—he is not a leader, but a danger to the community. The people of Katikamu North must reject him if they want to secure a better future for themselves and their children.
The choice is clear. The people deserve a leader who truly cares for their well-being, not one who exploits them for personal gain. It is time for real change, and that change begins with rejecting Gaddafi Nusur.
